Intro: The Chinese Elm is a large, hardy and semi-deciduous spreading tree, which is well suited to parks, streetscapes and larger gardens. As an additional feature, the trunk has peeling bark which reveals patches of yellow, grey and brown colours.
Foliage: The leaf is small and glossy green in the summer, changing to yellow in Autumn which stay on the tree through to late winter.
Soil: Suitable for most soil types, preferring well drained and well worked soil.
Maintenance: Water in well and keep the soil moist until the tree is well established. We recommend you fertalize the tree when planting and again after new growth. You can prune to shape this one if you desire.
