Intro: The Hornbeam is a shade loving medium to tall deciduous tree. It has a smooth barked trunk. It is widley used in landscape gardening, mainly as tall hedges and for topiary.
Foliage: Dense foliage with fine toothed green leaves which turn yellow in Autumn.
Soil: Prefers soil of moderate fertility and mositure levels, that is well drained. The Bud union needs to be planted above soil level.
