Intro: Large tree with strong Autumn colour, which is best suited to large areas.

Foliage: Lush dark green leaves with five to seven fine lobes. In autumn the leaves change from Deep red to bronze. Leaves often last over the winter.

Flowers: Grey / green to tan male catkins with yellow/ green to tan flowers with acorns. Blooms late winter.. Small Acorns  in summer

Soil: Very adaptable to a wide range of site conditions including wet or dry, clay or sandy soils. Handles moderate drought, air pollution and has good wind tolerance. Best in moist, well drained acid soils.

Maintenance: May require some pruning due to low branches.

Sun: Prefers full sun
